The site is on the North Coast 500. It is a good stopping off point where you can find shops, fuel and restaurants.
It is a favourite start point for cyclists taking up the challenge of the climb over the Bealach na Ba, the steepest road climb in the country, going from sea level to 626 m (2054 ft.). Others come to cycle over the hill paths and others still, just to walk them.
There are a number of Munros nearby; too many to name, the nearest being Achnashellach tops.
The village shops and restaurants are all within 5 minutes walk from the campsite. There is a path into the village.
